Texas Chick-fil-A owner Jeff Glover paid workers thru shut-down, no one laid off
It's not just cows that are happy at Chick-fil-A. Some employees are pretty tickled, too. An Austin, Texas Chick-fil-A owner Jeff Glover paid workers thru a shut-down for renovations, reported Business Insider August 13. No one was laid off during the 5-month restaurant closure. In fact, Glover surprised employees with a raise for sticking with his business through its growing pains. This reversal is somewhat unprecedented in the workforce. Typically it's layoffs with no payoffs during company shut-downs, not paid and unlaid off. This change-up shocked and pleased workers who were expecting to be given marching orders during the company closure.
